A brushless kayak motor with 40 lbs of thrust — compatible with most standard kayaks, including the UK version, and matched to the Haswing Fishing Kayak 54605.
A 5-forward/5-reverse gear switch gives stepped control (no maximizer, unlike the W40-GPS variant). Battery state shows on a real-time voltage display, with a magnetic kill-switch lanyard as extra protection.
The 2-blade Ø 19.3cm prop runs at 1500 rpm and carries a skeg guard against bottom strikes. Usable in fresh or salt water.

Which battery fits the W40?+
The recommended battery is min. 80 Ah Gel / Li-ion 3S / LiFePO4 4S. For a precise runtime estimate at a given capacity, use the battery calculator.
Which fuse should I use?+
This motor draws up to ~40 A at full throttle, so the recommended fuse rating is 50 A (AGU-type or resettable) — in practice, round up to the nearest size available.
Can the shaft be fitted to my boat?+
For the general sizing rule (transom or gunwale height → shaft length) see the sizing table on this page — Haswing motors also offer depth adjustment along the full shaft length, so a small mismatch is rarely a dealbreaker.
Does the motor run in salt water?+
Yes — the entire Haswing range runs in both fresh and salt water. After a season in salt water, rinse the shaft and prop with fresh water.
